Just Open Up
Have you ever found yourself afraid to open up to God’s presence? You might know exactly why you’re afraid. Or, maybe, you’ve intentionally hidden the reason for so long that you've forgotten why you're afraid. Regardless of the reason, God understands you and loves you unconditionally. He knows all about you, and He still loves you.
David says in Psalm 139:15-16 NIV, “My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” He understood that God knew every ounce of who he was because God created him. He created his soul, which possesses his desires and longings, and his body – his physical appearance and the vessel for his soul.
Though we often forget, we are spiritual beings. Our thoughts and emotions are spiritual, while our voices and actions are physical. Our behavior and patterns stem from what’s happening in our soul. No human is able to monitor what's happening in your soul, as if live streaming the activity in real time. Instead, they only learn what's inside of us after we speak or act. But, God sees all. He looks at our heart, our motives and intentions, while people can only study our face.
If God knows that much about you, and keeps His loving eye on you, why are you afraid to be vulnerable or let Him help and guide you? Doesn't it make sense to allow someone who knows you and loves you that much, in? If you just open up to Him, you’ll find that you can share your deepest desires with Him, without fear or judgment. When you are willing to let Him in, you’ll find that He'll replace any shameful secrets and thoughts with peace, joy, and hope. When you invite Him in, His love and forgiveness will lift and embrace you in a way that you've never experienced before.
Just think about it. How could our loving Father create such intricate souls and personalities, and such meticulous and advanced forms for us, and not be knowledgeable about how they function and how to care for them?
Close your eyes in a quiet place and let your heart and soul speak to Him. He knows just what to say to you, just how to help you, and just how to love you. Just open up!
